Adopting the classic round arch design typical of the Romanesque or Norman early Gothic Style this decorative arch mirror is finished in a paint and gilded leaf finish reflecting both the Gothic and revivalist Liberty or Art Deco Period.

This Romanesque Triptych overmantle has a rubbed gold gilded finish that involves rubbing back the gold leaf to expose the coloured bole underneath. This created a beautiful two tone finish which gives this decorative overmantel a more contemporary Art Deco feel than a conventional antiqhed gold finish.

This ornate Gothic arched overmantle is adapted from an icon frame that I was commissioned to make for a cathedral and I felt it was too good a design to waste so I reworked it into a decorative wall mirror design for my arched mirror collection. The curving geometry of its ogee arch and flanking pinnacles makes this a quintessential Gothic mirror and distinguishes it from any other arched wall mirrors. To pick out the lines of these decorative mirrors I’ve gone for an authentic true to period mixed gilded leaf & paint finish.
